The concept of “food as medicine” is based on the idea that the food we eat has the potential to heal and prevent disease. It’s an approach to nutrition that emphasizes the therapeutic benefits of whole, natural foods for overall health and wellbeing.

When we eat a diet rich in whole, nutrient-dense foods, we give our bodies the essential vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients needed for optimal health. These nutrients can help support the immune system, regulate inflammation, promote healthy digestion, and more.

Research has shown that certain foods have specific health benefits. For example, foods that are high in antioxidants, such as berries, leafy greens, and nuts, can help protect against cancer and heart disease. Foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as fatty fish and flaxseeds, can help reduce inflammation and improve brain function.

Research has also shown that certain dietary patterns, such as the Mediterranean diet, can help prevent chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. This type of diet emphasizes whole, minimally processed foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats, while limiting processed foods, sugary drinks, and saturated and trans fats.

But how do we know what is best for us?

” The “food as medicine” approach also

emphasizes the importance of individualized nutrition,

as everyone’s nutritional needs and health concerns are unique….”

If we are suffering from physical symptoms that are often linked to our gut health. Too much of certain foods can cause our gut health to deteriorate. Using EAM, The Energy Alignment Method and muscle testing, we can learn how to check what is best for us. Muscle testing allows us to identify which foods to cut out completely or the limits for intake for optimal health and well-being. It can also give us guidance on additional supplements, such as vitamins and minerals, that could be beneficial for us. EAM allows us to tune into our body and listen in to what is in alignment with our optimum health.
